About the role:

We are looking for a motivated Procurement Manager to join our team, with at least 2 years procurement experience. To secure the position you should have either an Engineering background or procurement experience in a technical field. Being technically minded is important, as this position will allow you to have a huge input into our new machinery, specification and build, as well and quality control communication with suppliers. You will work closely with both the marketing team to decide on requirements, specifications and suppliers, as well as the service team, to understand issues, quality control concerns and communicate this to our manufacturers in China and Taiwan. You will also be assisting in the Logistics process, managing stock coming in as well as co-ordinating container deliveries with customers who are receiving larger equipment and assisting with the service team planning for these larger installations.

Key Duties:

-Management of factory stocktaking for the purposes of planning stock orders
-Creating orders and ordering stock from overseas suppliers
-Quality control with Suppliers including:

• Reporting faults with machine and discussing product improvements
• Managing improvements in future orders
• Warranty claims and replacements/reimbursements for suppliers where possible
• Reporting all Mechanical, design or pricing changes to the GM for approval
• Updating the Service Manager of any changes to existing or future machine orders
• Updating the factory manager or any batch changes requiring stock management.

-Liaising with Suppliers for the purposes of:

• Ordering stock
• Quality control
• Negotiating pricing and best lead-times
• New product research

-Arranging international freight and logistics
-Co-ordinating international freight and delivery times with Service Manager and assisting with installation plan management where required

The ideal candidate must have/be:

• 2+ years procurement experience
• Engineering degree (or clear technical experience)
• Good general computer skills (word, excel, email etc)
• Strong problem-solving skills working well under pressure
• Good people skills
• Motivated positive attitude
• Mechanically minded (technical understanding is a must)
• But most importantly you must be interested and keen to learn the exciting field of Machinery. This job is challenging but interesting and rewarding!

Candidates with experience working with Chinese suppliers and/or the ability to speak Mandarin, will be highly regarded
