The Trade Marketer will play a critical role in developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance our brand's visibility, support our trade partners, and drive product sales across the retail landscape. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in trade marketing, particularly in the consumer goods or horticulture industries, and be skilled in creating impactful displays, sales collateral, and POS materials.

Mr Fothergill's Seeds are a leading company in the health and wellbeing space, focused on promoting sustainable living and enhancing everyday wellness through trusted and innovative gardening products. Our home gardening range includes packet seeds, bulbs, and indoor garden solutions designed to empower individuals to grow their own food or flowers and enjoy the benefits of nature in their own homes. We are looking for a passionate Trade Marketer to help us strengthen our representation in field and support our sales teams with impactful marketing strategies.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute effective trade marketing plans to support the sales teams, enhance brand visibility, and drive sales growth for home gardening products across various retail and distribution channels.
- Point of Sale (POS) and Display Stands: Design and implement effective in-store POS displays and merchandising strategies to maximise product visibility and drive consumer engagement at the retail level.
- Sales Collateral Development: Create and deliver sales materials, including brochures, product sheets, and presentations, for the national field sales team to support product promotion and sales efforts.
- Trade Shows & Events: Plan and manage the execution of trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events, ensuring strong brand representation and lead generation opportunities.
- Consumer Literature & Educational Materials: Develop consumer-facing literature, including product guides, care instructions, and educational materials that support our product range and encourage consumer adoption.
- Collaboration with Sales Teams: Work closely with the sales team to ensure that marketing initiatives align with sales targets and objectives, providing them with the necessary tools and materials to drive sales.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Monitor and analyse competitor activities, retail trends, and market conditions to continually optimise trade marketing strategies and ensure a competitive edge.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure that all marketing materials and strategies reflect the company's brand positioning, messaging, and values across all touchpoints.
Profile
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in trade marketing, ideally in the consumer goods, horticulture, or health and wellbeing sectors.
- Strong background in developing and executing POS displays, sales collateral, and trade event strategies.
- Experience managing trade shows, exhibitions, and retail merchandising.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and creative teams.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with knowledge of design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) being a plus.
- A passion for gardening and a keen understanding of the horticulture industry is highly desirable.
