Carpet Call, Australia’s largest flooring retailer has been established for 50 years and successfully runs a network of retail & franchise stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, along with a national builders’ division catering to some of the largest home builders in Australia.
We are committed to enhancing our digital presence and improving customer engagement through innovative technology solutions, including new ERP initiatives. We are looking for a skilled BA to join our team and help drive our technology transformation projects. The role will be based in our head office in Clayton and may require occasional interstate travel. You will report to the Finance Transformation Manager.
About the Role:
As a Senior Business Analyst at Carpet Call, you will play a crucial role in driving our technology transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for gathering requirements, conducting workshops, creating business process models, documenting "as-is" and "to-be" processes, and ensuring successful implementation through training, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This is not your typical BA role as you will be involved in multiple systems and functional areas and be a key part of the ERP project team.
To be considered for the role it is essential that applicants are able to:
- Conduct requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
- Facilitate workshops to elicit requirements and gather feedback from cross-functional teams.
- Develop and document business process models using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).
- Analyse current ("as-is") processes and design future ("to-be") processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and user guides.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes.
- Develop and execute test plans, including functional testing, system integration testing, and UAT.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bridging the gap between business SMEs and IT team during data migration and data validation.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during the implementation and post-implementation phases.
- Ability to prioritise and work through multiple tasks
- Strong communicator with ability to build relationships across the organisation.
Other attributes which would be considered favourably include:
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly any of Dynamics Business Central, Netsuite or Odoo
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus
- Experience with Lucid Chart (or similar flowchart tool)
- Experience with Atlassian Jira or Confluence, Asana or Monday.com project software (or similar)
- Experience working with SQL databases and Power BI would be looked on favourably
- Ability to provide practical ideas for improving the overall efficiency of the business operations
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
