We are looking for high energy, experienced individuals who are dedicated to improving the safety, wellbeing and support the development of children and young people through providing a range of counselling interventions where the aim of therapy is focused on improving relationships and functioning within families after or during parental separation.
Successful applications will:
- Become part of a great team environment
- Manage an independent caseload (min. 15 appointments/ week @ 3 days a week)
- Receive regular supervision
- Have opportunities to participate in monthly group supervision
- Be provided with internal Continuing Professional Development opportunities
- Have an external training allowance
The practitioner will report to the Head of Clinical Services and will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality engagement, assessment, treatment and support services to individuals and their families, through evidence-based counselling and group work.
- Assist children to manage the effects of family separation, family violence and parenting issues.
- Present assessments at clinical supervision and review and make recommendations.
- Contribute effectively to the clinical review process.
- Develop treatment plans and provide effective counselling interventions to meet the needs of clients and family systems.
- Provide high-quality written “Family Therapy”/ treatment reports.
The job will be part time (3 days per week) with an opportunity for flexible working hours (core hours - 9.30am and 6pm)
Successful applicants MUST have:
- Tertiary qualifications in psychology OR social work.
- Registration/membership to a relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW)
- Hold or be eligible for registration as a Mental Health Medicare Provider
Even better:
- Demonstrated ability to provide counselling interventions and support to children, young people, and families in family law matters
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-conflict individuals, couples, and families
- Working with matters of domestic violence
- Understanding child protection issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organisation
- Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse clients.
- Highly developed report writing skills
- Group work facilitation
- Computer literacy
- Commitment to persona growth
- A valid working with Children’s Check clearance verification number
