Health Psychology/Mental Health – Contract Position

WPS has over 30 years of experience delivering mental health services to the community and is a highly sought-after clinic for both Clinicians and Clients.

The position is:

• 2 days a week (prefer on-site, however one day can be online).
• The client group includes clients with injuries and pain issues (WorkCover), disability counselling (NDIS), and for low-income and marginalised groups (Targeted Psychological Services).

We are looking for a value-aligned clinician dedicated to providing high-quality care to their patients to complement our well-established mental health services.

While operating your own practice, you'll collaborate with experienced professionals within our clinic. These collaborations will enrich your practice and provide invaluable insights and support. This is a rare chance to operate your practice while benefiting from the support and infrastructure of our established clinic, administrative, and IT services with referrals and clinical support.
Consulting rooms are beautifully furnished, warm, and light-filled with aircon/heating and access to printer and wi-fi facilities. The building consists of a reception and waiting area, multiple offices, a staff kitchen, etc.

We have an extensive referral network and a well-established reputation. The clinic is conveniently located with access to public transport and parking is available for clients and practitioners.

You will require your own ABN, insurance, and Medicare provider number.

• Family and relationship issues

• Substance abuse

Responsibilities

Tasks may include:

• assessing a client's needs, abilities, or behaviour using a variety of methods
• devising and monitoring appropriate evidence-based treatment
• maintaining client paperwork to monitor the progress of the treatment(s).

Essential Criteria

• ​Full registration as a psychologist or mental health social worker with AHPRA or AASW.
• Capability to work independently
• Strong commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
• Medicare provider number eligibility.
• Must have own ABN and public liability/professional indemnity insurance.

​Desirable

• Experience working in a private practice.
• Experience providing evidence-based interventions and a good understanding of formulation including clinical assessment.
