About the role

The Bob Hawke Community Centre is looking a food services assistant to work as part of our delivered meals production team. The food services assistant plays a vital role in helping produce packaged meals for our clients. Reporting to the senior food services assistant your duties include Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment. Assist in stock receival and replenishing. Cleaning of stores, cool, freezer rooms. Food portioning and plating, assembling of sandwiches and salads. Packing of meals ready for distribution to the delivered meals drivers.

Skills and experience require to perform the role

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and effectively partnering to influence decision-making
  • Food Safety Certificate HLTFSE001
  • Willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen cleaning
  • Team player with excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Understanding of food safety handling, storage regulations and OHS practices
  • Ability to follow work procedures and be willing to embrace changes and prioritise workloads
