2025 is lining up to be an exciting year for Running with Thieves!
We are expanding into 2 new venues this year, with more planned in 2026. Due to our exponential growth, we are looking for the best Venue Manager in Perth to join our team! We want the best, so we are prepared to give the best conditions and pay the most.
We’re looking for all the normal things such as a motivated, energetic, and a professional Manager to build up and run our new venues. But the person also needs to be a driven leader who is keen to grab the reins and build on the venue’s solid reputation, whilst taking direction from the Managing Director.
You’ll be supported and guided by an experienced MD but will ultimately have full responsibility for the venue(s), its day-to-day operations, and the team. You will also fill the role as the back-up General Manager.
We are growing to be one of the largest independent brewery and distilleries in Western Australia offer the most diverse range, from beer, vodka, gin, whisky, bourbon and rum. There isn’t much we don’t do. A portion of your role will also be promoting our different products like our world famous “Thieves Collection”
We currently are located at venues from Henderson, Fremantle to North Beach, which will grow. So the ability to travel between venues is essential. You will need to have experience with 2 or more bars, restaurants, retail and café venues to be considered for the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of venue(s); including (but not limited to) cost control, labour management, P&Ls, marketing insight and activations, KPIs/targets.
- Manage all safety within the business
- Lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of staff members to provide excellent customer service.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Liaising with the kitchen to ensure consistent quality and presentation of meals.
- Driving continuous improvement of the customer experience.
- Hands-on and operational role working alongside a close-knit team of staff to develop, train and upskill.
- Oversee marketing campaigns to promote events, new beers, and seasonal menus
- Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, council regulations, food safety, WHS, and other relevant legislative instruments.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure stock levels and product quality
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in a brewery, bar, or restaurant setting.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and cost control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage the performance of a diverse team
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work autonomously with direction and guidance from Managing Director
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 5 years of previous venue and people management experience.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Approved Manager (Liquor License) and current WA RSA
