About the Role
As the Service Manager, you will lead our team of skilled HVAC Service Technicians while actively engaging in business development activities to drive growth and increase our market presence. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our operations run smoothly, our services meet industry standards, and our customers receive outstanding support.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of HVAC Service Technicians.
- Promote a positive, “can-do” culture and facilitate ongoing professional development.
Operational Management:
- Schedule and dispatch service calls to optimise job assignments.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Quality & Compliance:
- Monitor and enforce adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and quality audits.
Customer Relations:
- Act as the primary contact for customer inquiries and service escalations.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through prompt and effective resolution of service issues.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage service records, prepare detailed reports, and assist with budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Business Development:
- Actively seek out and develop new business opportunities to expand our service division.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry partners to drive growth.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory/managerial role within the HVAC or mechanical services industry.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R systems, preventative maintenance, and repair processes.
- Experience or willingness to engage in business development activities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and manuals.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Valid driver's license (and where applicable, a white card); relevant HVAC certifications or qualifications are a plus.
