We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Sales Manager in VIC. Your main responsibility in this role will be to be a market and customer facing specialist in the Alimak Hoist Rental and New/Used Unit Sales market (Construction Sales). This role will also look at ways to increase the revenue and profitability of the Alimak Construction Division and relates to the regions VIC,SA,TAS, however primarily focused on VIC. This role has no direct reports, they take ownership and manage the customer accounts themselves.

This role oversees all aspects of business development, order growth, revenue growth and account management. This role is required to drive new and strong customer relationships, support existing customers, and drive long-term repeat business in the rental sector. Develop clear scope of supply, clear pricing, and exceptional contract review. The role is very fluid, and strategy will be adjusted regularly to continually improve our market share. A secondary part of the role will be to be mindful of any potential new and used sales opportunities to again push increased Alimak market share.

This role will report directly to the VIC Operations Manager.

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Exceptional in English language – both spoken and written
  • Leadership skills with ability to influence and inspire both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of best practice Consultative sales techniques
  • Experienced in thought leadership and entrepreneurial solution providing in a business development manner
  • Experienced in reviewing Construction contracts, negotiating out unnecessary risk within group guidelines
  • This is not a full-time desk job, success in this role comes from being extremely customer facing. Visiting construction sites, meeting contracts team in their head office, entertaining them over lunch etc.
  • Basic interpretation of building slab edge drawings to make estimates on non-standard items required to adapt the Alimak to the building – excellent in quoting and delivering solutions

Preferred candidate may have this experience:

  • Evidence of sales track record in an engineering product line
  • Demonstrable consultative sales experience including contract management
  • Evidence of selling in the Construction industry
  • Experience in selling customised capital goods
