About Our Emergency Department:
- ~50 bedded facility, providing comprehensive emergency care
- Handles~80,000 presentations annually, with a 30% admission rate
- Led by FACEMs, our team-based approach ensures quality care across a variety of clinical settings
- Diverse case mix, including Paediatrics (~20% of presentations), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Stroke Services, providing broad clinical exposure.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Officer to manage emergency department (ED) patients under the direction of Emergency Medicine Consultants. As part of a supportive, FACEM-led team, you will:
- Ensure comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and accurate documentation of management plans
- Supervise and provide clinical guidance to junior medical staff during after-hours shifts
- Collaborate with resident and on-call medical teams to address patient concerns
- Engage with on-call consultants for departmental issues
- Participate in after-hours and weekend rosters as required.
