St Patrick's is a Parish Co-educational Secondary College of approximately 510 students in Gympie. Gympie is located approximately 40 minutes from the Sunshine Coast. STUDENT RECEPTION - 2 days per week

The office staff are often the first contact students, parents and visitors have with the College and as such must be well presented and behave in a professional manner at all times. He/she must perform their duties efficiently and courteously, and be committed to the Catholic Ethos and mission of St Patrick’s College.

The student receptionist is located in the main office. He/she is the first point of contact with the students and subsequently needs to be friendly and approachable. There are a wide range of tasks and contexts to work in and the work is usually within a routine. He/she is directly responsible to the Business Manager. Significant relationships will also exist with other members of the College Leadership Team, the Business Manager and other staff members and parents.

Duties include, but not limited to:-

· Dealing with students sent to the office for various purposes and referring them to appropriate staff

· Ensure confidentiality between students, teachers and parents

AREA OF GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

· Assists Incoming phone calls

· Control and entry of student absences, rolls and general enquiries

· Arranges approval for Leave Passes

· Signing in late students – via ALLE

· Manages lost property

· Makes PA announcements

· Student welfare - and referrals as required

· Filing of all student absence and leave pass notes

· Handle administration enquiries from staff, students, parents and the general public

· Student permissions and activities

· Attend to students who report in sick and if necessary direct them to Sick Bay

· Provide First Aid if required (First Aid training will be provided if you do not currently hold a First Aid Certificate

· Other general office duties as directed by the Deputy Principal, Business Manager/CLT and Assistant to the Principal/Office Manager

· Bus reports and Census data

· Assist with Parent/Visitor Reception at peak times

FINANCE ASSISTANT - 1 day per week

- Assist the Finance Secretary as directed with various tasks

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
