In the role of Procurement Coordinator, you will provide high level procurement advice aligning to the Queensland Procurement Policy and Departmental Purchasing Procedures. You will also identify risks of non-adherence to procurement policies and procedures and identify opportunities for procurement efficiencies. Together with Management you will implement RoadTek specific procurement improvement projects.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Assist in the development of regional procurement strategies which underpin and strengthen RoadTek Procurement Plan.
• Identify and assist in the implementation of procurement practices and processes which significantly reduce materials and contractor costs.
• Establish networks with other Procurement Officers and Managers, to more effectively utilise RoadTek procurement practices, to deliver better business
outcomes and value for money.
• Assist with and provide guidance to support staff with the calling, assessment and awarding of tenders.
• Assist in the communication of RoadTek procurement strategies to staff and facilitate changes to traditional procurement practices through training and education programs.
• Maintain awareness of industry procurement practices and continuously improve the benefits and outcomes of the procurement function within RoadTek.
• Ensure the uniform and timely implementation of Standing Offer Arrangements.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Valid Queensland ‘C' class driver's license or equivalent.
• You may be required to travel to other locations to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
This role requires a strong respect for legislation and policy frameworks, with a thorough understanding of procurement policies, processes, and planning to support tactical procurement activities.
