Warrnambool City Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Coordinator to lead and oversee the procurement activities for the Council. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient and effective coordination of purchasing activities that support the community and align with the corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and Oversight: Lead the efficient coordination of all procurement activities to ensure Council's purchasing needs are met effectively.
  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement a strategic procurement function, contributing to the achievement of Council’s objectives in line with the community and corporate plans.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and support the Procurement Administration Officer, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Procurement Best Practices: Monitor and advise on best procurement practices, ensuring Council’s processes are aligned with industry standards.
  • Advice & Support: Provide procurement guidance and support across the organization, ensuring that all activities are undertaken efficiently and effectively.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in procurement and be passionate about driving improvements to procurement processes. You will possess excellent communication skills, be a strategic thinker, and have the ability to lead a team while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

The Benefits

This is a temporary part time position until 6 February 2026, working 45.6 hours per fortnight.
The current salary is $98,211 p.a (pro-rata) excluding superannuation.
