Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Sydney, Australia

Overview:

The Lee Family Office is seeking a highly organized, assertive, and results-driven Project Manager to oversee a broad range of projects across the family office’s business operations. We are looking for an allrounder to manage all aspects of project execution, ensuring high standards of performance, financial accuracy, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, financial oversight experience, and a proactive attitude towards managing contractors and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide range of projects, including construction, renovations, IT systems, office operations, and financial acumen. Oversee each phase of the project lifecycle, from planning and coordination to execution and delivery.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller to track project budgets, reconcile hours worked with hours billed, and ensure projects stay within financial constraints. Regularly cross-reference costs and progress to ensure projects are completed on budget and on time.
  • Source, vet, and manage contractors, ensuring that performance standards are met, contracts are adhered to, and results are delivered on schedule. Hold contractors accountable and ensure high-quality work is delivered at every stage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including administrative staff and remote teams, to ensure smooth coordination and efficient execution of tasks. Foster a positive and professional working environment with contractors, ensuring that all parties are aligned in their goals.
  • Be quick on your feet, proactively identifying and resolving issues as they arise. Provide insight into ways to improve processes, efficiency, and the overall project delivery experience.
  • Maintain clear, detailed records of project progress, budgets, timelines, and contractor performance. Provide regular updates and reports to the family office team on project status and financials.
  • Visit job sites frequently to monitor progress, manage contractors, and ensure that the work aligns with the family office’s expectations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field (Business, Engineering, Construction Management, etc.)
  • Project Management Qualification desired but not required (e.g., PMP, Prince2, or other recognized methodologies)
  • 3+ Years of Project Management Experience with exposure to various industries (construction, IT, digital, office management, event planning, etc.)
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams, handling financials, and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

  • Clear and effective communicator, capable of providing direction to teams and contractors and delivering results in a timely manner.
  • Ability to earn trust from the team and contractors while fostering a respectful and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage high-stakes projects with a professional, calm, and respectful demeanor at all times, ensuring smooth collaboration and positive outcomes.

Work Environment:

  • The role will require frequent visits to job sites, with flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend work as needed. Administrative tasks will mostly involve collaboration with relevant in-house teams.
