Brilliant Kitchens & Interiors is seeking a Bookkeeper/Office Assistant.

We are a small but thriving business committed to providing top quality products and exceptional customer service. We are looking for a hands-on, multi-tasking individual to join our team. In this varied and engaging role, you will be responsible for handling a range of duties. We are looking for a reliable team member who can manage financial records, assist with day-to-day office operations and help keep things running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare customer invoices and record customer payments
  • Chase up overdue accounts via phone, letter and email
  • Prepare and reconcile supplier statements
  • Ensure all supplier bills are appropriately authorised and paid in a timely manner
  • Reconcile bank and credit card transactions on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and process payroll and lodge STP
  • Make monthly superannuation payments
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly IAS and BAS returns
  • Assist with the preparation of basic financial reports and statements
  • Work with external accountants as needed

Office/Reception Duties:

  • Welcome clients and notify company personnel of visitor arrival
  • Answer phone calls, take messages and direct enquiries
  • Manage general office correspondence and respond to email enquiries
  • Maintain clear records and communicate professionally with clients and suppliers
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scheduling and general office tasks as needed
  • Maintain safe, clean and tidy reception and showroom area
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and pricing, to provide information to customers
  • Ad hoc general administration
  • Complete in-house training as required

What We Are Looking For:

  • Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB/Xero/QuickBooks or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently, motivated and reliable
  • If you are tech savvy, you could also be posting updates and photos to our digital media platforms
