About the Role
Our client, a leading supplier to the retail and food service markets, is seeking a motivated Customer and Logistics Officer to join their team. This role is integral to managing the importation process and ensuring excellent service delivery to customers. You will oversee order placement with overseas suppliers, coordinate shipping, and handle customer inquiries, contributing directly to a seamless supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prior experience in logistics within an import, trading, or distribution business is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and handle challenges with professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Order and Import Coordination:

  • Place purchase orders with overseas suppliers.
  • Track shipping details and ensure timely updates.
  • Verify shipping documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, customs brokers, and warehouses.
  • Customer Service:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries.
  • Build strong relationships through high-quality communication and responsiveness.
  • Resolve customer concerns efficiently and professionally.
  • Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare accurate monthly customer activity and contract balance reports.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date internal databases.
  • Record and update batch and shelf-life details.
  • Logistics Coordination:

  • Arrange shipment methods and advise on costs or changes.
  • Work closely with third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
