The Role
The Town of Port Hedland has a position available for someone passionate about payroll within our Finance team. The Payroll Coordinator will manage the payroll function to ensure the timely and accurate payment of payroll, superannuation, taxes and deductions. This role will include a variety of tasks including developing and documenting robust payroll processes, undertaking regular audit checks and strong stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders.
Our ideal applicant will have demonstrated experience running a payroll for 250+ employees as well as extensive up to date knowledge and experience of current payroll systems and legislations. Due to the strong components of stakeholder management and coaching, you will require a high level of writing and verbal communication skills, as well as fast and efficient data entry skills.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capitals works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.
Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Payroll Specialist Qualification (or working towards) or business degree or equivalent
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
