*$235,040 - $270,504 inc MV & Super (TEC)
Two hours north of Adelaide is one of South Australia’s hidden secrets - the Northern Areas Council region. Here the major towns of Jamestown, Laura and Gladstone, along with smaller towns and farming communities, provide 5,000 residents with a great quality of life, picturesque landscapes, excellent facilities and major services within easy reach.
The main economy is broadacre farming, with the Jamestown Saleyards one of the few remaining regional livestock sales facilities. Windfarm development has made a strong contribution to the economy and has attracted new people to the district.
An excellent CEO opportunity now exists for a strong, decisive and hands on leader who is ready to commit to this vibrant, close knit country community and district.
Working closely with a supportive Elected Body, staff and the community, some of the key objectives in the first 12-24 months will include:
- Finalisation of Council’s key strategic documents and plans relating to infrastructure and asset management and maintenance, and future projects to be delivered
- Undertaking a thorough organisational review to drive efficiency, build capability and develop a high performing culture
- Working closely with the new senior leaders to create a strong, resilient and stable Executive Team
- Overseeing the maximisation of grant and funding opportunities to deliver benefit and enhanced services to the community
- Ensuring strong fiscal management to ensure sustainability, and compliance with legislation and statutory requirements.
You may be an existing CEO or a ready aspirant with proven broad executive leadership experience from a similar setting who is ready to step up.
Local government experience will be highly desirable, alternatively a proven broad leadership background with a focus on infrastructure, operations and financial management in a relatable/transferable sector may be considered.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills will be essential, along with the desire to live, immerse and commit to the district for a significant period of time.
Please apply online via the Seek advertisement quoting reference NAC21225 before 12 midnight 9 March 2025.
