Osborne Richardson are delighted to be partnering with this fantastic Local Council in the Isaac Region to offer another great opportunity to the local community in Central Queensland. On this occasion, we are seeking a Catering Lead to take the reigns of operations in Moranbah. You will start on a 6-12 month contract, which will then be converted to a permanent role once everyone is ready to do so.
As the Catering Lead in a large organisation such as this, you will have many services to administer on a daily basis. The Catering Lead provides the delivery of efficient and effective catering services for functions, events and for the day-to-day catering bookings of the Isaac Event Centre. In doing so, your day will be filled with various tasks including:
- Planning, creating, costing and preparing a menu for client selection
- Organising efficient cooking preparation techniques and procedures, ensuring meals are well presented at all times to provide a pleasant dining experience.
- Maintaining strict stock control over food supplies and consumables by performing monthly stocktakes, and reporting variances including wastage;
- Assisting in the coordination of centre staff in the delivery of catering for events;
- Adherence to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintain appropriate dating, labelling, and rotation of all food items;
- Planning for cost effectiveness of events and functions minimising wastage;
- Being reasonably available for after hours and weekend duties as may be necessary

- Demonstrated experience in the catering of events and functions is essential;
- Experience in effective stock control and menu creation;
- Experience in the supervision of staff and the ability to delegate tasks as required.
- High standards of customer service including teamwork;
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late evenings and weekends;
- Competent in the use of computers, Microsoft Office suite and job-specific software.
- The role requires the possession of a current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence, Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain prior to commencement, and a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or ability to obtain.
