The Role
Acting as the primary liaison between the company and the contract manufacturer, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for full product production life cycle, taking product designs from the engineering team and transitioning them to contract manufacturers to managing the end-of-life process (EOL). Key duties will include:

  • Leading the transition of product designs to contract manufacturers, ensuring all necessary documentation (BOMs, CAD models, process instructions, etc.) is provided.
  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and recommend design modifications to improve production efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce production costs, lead times, and waste while maintaining product quality.
  • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and ensure contract manufacturers implement changes appropriately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).

The Requirements

  • Extensive experience taking a product from design stage to production via contract manufacturers (CMs) including previous experience transitioning products between CMs.
  • Previous history in working with integrated electronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of global standards e.g. ISO, UL, EN etc.
  • Domestic and international travel required multiple times per year.
  • Tertiary Engineering qualifications (ideally electrical or electronics).
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
