Red Rock Recruitment is recruiting for a Logistics Manager within the scaffolding industry for an ongoing temp - permanent position based at Gladstone.

You will be responsible for managing the transportation, storage, and distribution of scaffolding materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to various construction sites.

This role requires strong coordination with suppliers, warehouse teams, transport providers, and project managers to maintain efficient operations while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Inventory Management

• Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of scaffolding equipment, ensuring availability for projects.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, tracking stock movement and preventing shortages or overstocking.
• Implement inventory control systems to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Transport & Distribution

• Plan and manage the transportation of scaffolding materials to and from job sites, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Optimize transport routes to minimize costs and maximise efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with weight limits, vehicle restrictions, and road safety regulations.
• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers for outsourced transportation needs.

Warehouse & Yard Operations

• Oversee the organisation of scaffolding materials in warehouses and yards to maximize space utilization and easy access.
• Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and tracking of scaffolding components.
• Implement safety protocols for storage and movement of heavy materials.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure that logistics operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Conduct regular inspections of transport vehicles and storage facilities.
• Implement risk management practices to prevent accidents and delays.

Team Management & Coordination

• Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, drivers, and logistics coordinators.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure timely scaffold deliveries based on construction schedules.
• Train staff on proper handling and transport procedures for scaffolding materials.

Cost Control & Performance Monitoring

• Develop and monitor budgets for logistics and transportation.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in storage, transport, and supply chain management.
• Track and report on logistics performance using KPIs such as delivery times, costs, and inventory turnover.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in logistics management, preferably in the construction or scaffolding industry.
• Strong knowledge of logistics management systems
• Familiarity with scaffolding components, materials, and transport regulations.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with construction site logistics planning.
