We are looking for people to provide care for children aged between 12 and 17 years in our specialist foster care program (THBC – Therapeutic Home-Based Care) within Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Central Coast.

The THBC model is a specialist foster care program set up to support carers who have children with complex care needs. The care occurs at home, either in your home or a house provided by Allambi Care. This is different to standard foster care, as the allowance paid to the carer is substantially higher, and there is a higher level of support provided to the carer. Additionally, there are therapeutic supports provided to the child such as psychological and behavioural specialists and intensive case work support.

• Manage and coordinate medical appointments, therapeutic sessions, and educational engagement.
• Foster a positive relationship with family members and help maintain cultural connections
• Work collaboratively with Allambi Care and other stakeholders to implement case plans and support strategies.
• Actively participate in care team meetings, home visits and appointments with allied health to implement therapeutic strategies.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance caregiving skills
