Job description:

Up to $15,000 incentive payments may be available to support relocation (paid as a reimbursement for Bond and rent, travel costs, removalists, accommodation, visa application fees and more).

The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.

The new workforce relocation and incentive grants program is being administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).

About the role
Grampians Health - Mental Health Services is a dynamic Area Mental Health Service striving to provide the highest standards of treatment for the region of Ballarat and Grampians region, while maintaining a commitment to a continuously improving clinical environment.

We currently have an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our community, inpatient and consultation liaison teams. Our community psychiatric service provides contemporary best practice, evidence-based, family-inclusive services to its clients and their families, utilising a multidisciplinary team framework and an integrated model of care.

The Consultant Psychiatrist is an integral and active member of this multidisciplinary framework. The Consultant Psychiatrist will be responsible for mental health services in the designated work area.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the clinical leadership of the team
  • Work closely with other senior members of the clinical leadership team to plan, deliver and evaluate services and programs to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • There is potential to be involved in research and you will be working within a supportive clinical context and environment.

Skills and Experience

  • To be registered as a medical practitioner by the Medical Board of Australia and to be a Fellow of the RANZCP or possess qualifications recognised as equivalent.

Desirable

  • Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate services and programs to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Proven ability to give clinical leadership to staff and to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence at ma senior level and adequate experience in the field of psychiatry after obtaining post graduate qualifications.
