Greatway Support are seeking Support Workers/Youth Workers for SIL, Community Access and Assisted Daily Living. Particularly working with a variety of individuals with varying needs, that may include complex needs/behaviors of concerns/mental health.

The role may involve working with complex care needs and challenging behaviours. This position calls for people who are resilient and can provide both emotional and practical support consistently across a range of situations.

Applicants with solid exposure to complex needs/personal care/ hoist/epilepsy management/diabetes management/PEG feeding/behaviours/mental health will be highly regarded.

In-house training provided, including Crisis Prevention Institute training.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have:

• Willing to work shift work including days, weekends, sleepovers and active nights
• Experience with supporting activities of daily living including personal care, manual handling and medications
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
• Demonstrate good listening skills, and build rapport and trust between clients
• Have ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to team goals

CERTIFICATES:

• Certificate III in Disability/Individual Support or similar qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check & Blue Card
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Completed NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Worker Orientation Module (access online: ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/training-course)
• Medication endorsed (desirable)
• Manual Handling experience (desirable)
• Drivers Licence
