Job Title: Youth Support Worker (Casual)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team. As a casual Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, guidance, and support to vulnerable First Nations young people in out of home care in our community. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of teh young people we care for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one support and mentoring to young people, addressing their individual needs and helping them develop essential life skills.
- Facilitate activities and programs that promote personal development, social skills, and healthy living.
- Collaborate with stakeholders; allied and therapeutic supports, families, schools, and other community organisations to ensure holistic support for the young people in our care.
- Maintain accurate case notes and records, and contribute to the overall monitoring and evaluation of our youth services.
- Support the wellbeing of young people.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, community services, child and family intervention, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people, preferably in a community services, residential or youth development setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by young people and a commitment to empowering and supporting them.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
