DWS are seeking several highly skilled and experienced Domain / Sub-Domain Architects to join our team, working with our major banking client.

The successful candidates will come from an extensive banking Sub-Domain or Domain Architect background – depending on the size of the bank. With truly exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and guiding C-suite executives and other senior leaders in making strategic decisions that impact entire business units, this role requires a totally self-managing professional who only need refer to the Lead Domain Architect for high-level approvals.

Rate: up to $300K max term or $1300/day ACN

Style: Hybrid; approx. 3 days per week in CBD office + WFH

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Stakeholder Management: Engage with C-suite executives and senior leaders to understand business needs, provide strategic insights, and influence decision-making processes.
• Architecture Development: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure business banking solutions that align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business units to develop and maintain a comprehensive architecture roadmap that supports business objectives and drives innovation.
• Governance: Establish and enforce architectural standards, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all business banking initiatives.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the stability and security of business banking systems.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the business banking domain.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and product development, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of business banking solutions.
• Qualifications: Tertiary degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent professional experience + TOGAF Certified
• Experience: A broad career of experience in architecture roles within the financial services industry, with a focus on transactional business banking.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of successfully managing and influencing C-suite executives and senior leaders.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of business banking systems, multi-cloud and architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), and emerging technologies.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving strategic goals.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
• Self-Management: Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently, with little to no supervision.
