Aussie Skips is proudly Aussie owned and operated by a dynamic team with a friendly workplace culture. Our business is growing and a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is required to assist in our busy workshop.

Our opportunity

A rare opportunity exists for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our busy workshop servicing and repairing a range of fleet trucks. Due to the continued growth of our business a need has arisen for an afternoon shift (1:00 PM noon to 11:00 PM- Monday to Friday) to service and maintain our growing truck fleet.

We are based at Greenacre and looking for a mature minded person who is ready to hit the ground running. This position is for an immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Diagnosing faults via inspection and diagnostic testing
• Maintaining records of all trucks and documenting all procedures and repairs
• Ability to interpret and understand all relevant truck user manuals and software
• Maintaining and cleaning of workshop
• Wiring repairs

Essential criteria and experience

• Must have own transport
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as unsupervised
• Punctual, reliable and trustworthy with a positive can-do attitude
• Isuzu (Japanese) truck experience an advantage
• Current NSW HR licence
• Up to date knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle laws and regulations
• Waste management industry experience an advantage
