Our Federal Client has a requirement for a labour-hire resource to undertake the role of Domestic Regional Technical Officer / Senior Systems Engineer to assist with priority ICT support for Agency locations within Australia as facilitated by the Domestic Technical Support Section.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Provide technical support domestically including travel, some international travel opportunities may be required.
• Install and support DFAT's IT, Network and Communications systems.
• Review and maintain installation documentation of various ICT systems.
• General technical work and advice.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures.

Technical skills required

• Certificate III in Information Technology is desirable.
• Experience with complex ICT Systems.
• Knowledge of desktop Environments - capable of install/support of end-user compute software and hardware.
• Knowledge of printers - capable of installation and troubleshooting hardware and software.
• Physical Network and Server infrastructure - base understanding and operability of network and server devices and distribution cabling.
• Logical Network - working knowledge of network routing and switching, including core concepts such as DHCP, subnetting, VLANs - or the ability to acquire.
• Knowledge of government physical & electronic security requirements and processes.
