Kinexus have partnered with an Australian Defence SME based in Canberra, who have a long-term sustainment contract with the Commonwealth of Australia, in their search for an IT Systems Engineer to support in a key project they have. The role is a 6 month initial-length contract position, with potential to extend for a further 6 to 12 months, whilst reporting into the Canberra office full time. You must have a minimum of NV1 security clearance for this position.

In this role you will be involved with a series of Windows server upgrades and software application rollouts onto Windows servers across multiple Defence sites, whilst keeping documentation up-to-date and at a high level of quality.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years' of experience as an IT Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator, ideally working in the Defence industry.
• Technical experience with Windows servers (2012 to 2019), Windows OS, AD, Group Policy configuration and virtualisation technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, etc).
• An understanding of networking and security principles.
• A strong ability to write quality documentation, particularly in line with the expectations of the Defence industry.

What's on offer:

• A daily rate of up to $140p/h dependant on your level of experience.
• An initial 6 month long contract engagement, followed by a potential extra 6-12 months in extensions.
