About the role

As an Occupational Therapist at Therapy HQ, you'll play a crucial role in helping adults with acquired brain injury (ABI) in the Newcastle, Hunter, and Central Coast regions regain their independence and improve their quality of life. This full-time position is based in Newcastle, though there are regular opportunities for remote work and travel to nearby areas.

What you'll be doing

• Providing community-based rehabilitation services to adults with acquired brain injury, funded under Lifetime Care and Support (LTCS) and Workers' Care
• Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify clients' functional, cognitive and physical needs
• Developing and implementing personalised therapy plans to help clients achieve their goals
• Providing one-on-one therapy sessions to address clients' specific needs
• Collaborating with clients, their families and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
• Continuously monitoring and adjusting therapy plans to optimise client outcomes
• Maintaining detailed clinical records and contributing to the overall success of the therapy team
• Contributing to the design and development of new and innovative service initiatives for adults with ABI.

What we're looking for

• Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• At least 2 years experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a community-based setting
• Experience working in neurological rehabilitation is highly desired
• Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills, with a focus on client-centred care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients and collaborate with stakeholders
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address the unique needs of each client
• A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of adults with acquired brain injury (ABI).
