We’re seeking a dedicated and innovative Business Services Manager to help run our Business Services team, based in the Sydney CBD.

About Our Firm

Imagine a firm that was conceptualised around bringing Big 4 level of advice and bespoke client service to the private business market. Since early 2020, JD Scott + Co has been succeeding in bringing that vision to life.

Currently a team of ten with a client base made up of professional services, financial services, technology firms, as well as a signficant number of HNW family groups.

The day-to-day work ranges from tax compliance through to complex tax planning, CFO advisory and business support. We continue to grow and create a sophisticated service offering that works well for our clients and also for us.

About The Opportunity

Our business services mid-market client base is growing and requires specialised and focused support.

We are looking for a Business Services Manager who is able to lead of a team of professionals.

This role will see you take full ownership of various client accounts whilst continuing to partner closely with your colleagues on other business projects and priorities.

Specifically, this role will see you:

  • Take ownership of the Business Services team and a portfolio of SME clients;
  • Manage the teams workflow;
  • Be able to identify tax and accounting risk issues, solve more complex problems and provide written advice to clients;
  • Mentor, train and develop staff; and
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of our processes;
Who You Are

Beyond all else, you will be a true team player, with the intellectual curiosity and drive to learn and be consultative in style with clients. Furthermore, you will ideally possess the following skills, education and experience:

  • You will be a qualified Accountant with at least 5 years Australian Tax / Business Servcices experience (this is a not negotiable);
  • Tech savvy, having gained exposure to a wide variety of different operating systems (we work completely in the cloud; a sustainable paperless environment). You must be at ease with technology;
  • Able to motivate, lead, mentor and drive the team; and
  • Have working rights in Australia (either citizen or PR)
