Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman with expertise in Autocad & Inventor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation to support the manufacturing of specialized steel and sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and workshop personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor for fabrication and manufacturing purposes.
• Develop sheet metal components, assemblies, and production drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
• Interpret and modify engineering drawings, ensuring manufacturability and accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and workshop personnel to ensure drawings align with project specifications and production capabilities.
• Generate bill of materials (BOMs) and other technical documentation.
• Assist in design modifications and improvements based on feedback from production and clients.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, quality control, and safety guidelines.

Required skills/experience:

• Minimum 2 years of drafting experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (essential).
• A portfolio demonstrating previous work will be highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience working with steel fabrication and welding processes is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Australian Work Rights required.
