The Role:
Are you a Mechanical Specialist , Maintenance Planner or Scheduler, looking to take on a senior role in diagnostics, parts procurement, and breakdown support? Do you have extensive experience working with mechanical supervisors and heavy equipment technicians to keep Caterpillar and Hitachi mining equipment running?

We’re looking for a Senior Maintenance & Parts Coordinator to work closely with our maintenance teams, ensuring our fleet is operating at peak performance by diagnosing issues, sourcing critical parts, and minimising downtime.

This hands-on role will see you on the front line with our mechanical teams, using your technical expertise to identify, source, and manage critical components for our mining fleet.

Mechanical Diagnosis & Parts Procurement

  • Work directly with mechanics and supervisors to diagnose breakdowns and determine parts needed.
  • Use Viper and other systems to order parts for urgent repairs and scheduled shutdowns.
  • Source and procure hard-to-find components through supplier networks and vendor negotiations.

Planned Maintenance & Shutdown Support

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and coordinate shutdowns, ensuring all necessary parts are on-site in advance.
  • Oversee remanufactured (reman) parts tracking and credit management.
  • Assist with long-term fleet reliability by tracking and predicting parts requirements based on machine reports.

Stock & Inventory Management

  • Monitor and maintain critical stock levels to avoid downtime.
  • Track tyre stock and essential consumables.
  • Manage freight logistics to ensure timely part deliveries.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with mechanical supervisors, workshop teams, and site maintenance crews.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring equipment reliability.
  • Provide daily reports on machine uptime, downtime, and procurement insights.

About You:

  • Background as a Maintenance Planner, Scheduler, or Mechanical Specialist in mining or heavy equipment Is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience working with mechanical teams to diagnose and resolve machine issues is desirable.
  • Understanding of parts procurement, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience using Viper or similar procurement and maintenance planning systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think ahead, ensuring parts are available before they’re needed.
