About the opportunity:

Position: Social Worker – Senior

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Social Worker Department, Townsville University Hospital

The Department of Social Work within the Townsville Hospital Health Service provides comprehensive Social Work services as an integral part of its health care delivery system. Working in a tertiary teaching hospital with links to James Cook University, you will have access to academic resources and potential research collaborations, further enhancing your professional growth and development.

Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $157,360 p.a., including:

  • Salary range: $128,169 to $137,918 p.a. (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in rotation across clinical areas and campuses, On-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical On-call Roster, which requires a 30 minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night), as well as weekends and public holidays.
  • Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
