About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Coordinator to support the delivery of the Coral Reef Rescue: Resilient Coral Reefs, Resilient Communities project. In this role, you will coordinate key activities, including project administration, financial management, stakeholder engagement, communications, and monitoring and evaluation. Working within a collaborative, high-performing team, you will contribute to a global initiative focused on protecting coral reef ecosystems and supporting coastal communities.

The Coral Reef Rescue project (GEF CRR) is a four-year initiative funded by the Global Environment Facility, contributing to the Global Coral Reef Rescue Initiative (CRRI). Operating across six countries, this project aims to safeguard climate refuge reefs, ensuring their long-term survival to protect biodiversity and support the blue economies that depend on them.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support operational and financial reporting, ensuring project activities align with work plans and budgets.
  • Oversee project monitoring and evaluation, tracking progress against key objectives.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement and communications, including newsletters, website updates, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate project reporting requirements, including financial reconciliation and work plan development.
  • Manage consultant contracts, payments, and project governance activities, including steering committee support.

About You

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional with a strong ability to synthesise complex information, coordinate multi-stakeholder projects, and manage financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have excellent report-writing skills, financial management expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. With contributions from six countries and multiple project aspects, this role requires someone who can effectively consolidate data, track progress, and provide clear, actionable insights to support project success.

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Political Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project coordination, including managing subgrantees, financials, logistics, and reporting for multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong skills in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, with experience using tools like Kobo Toolbox, AWS, or Power BI for data visualization.
  • Proven financial management expertise, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, forecasting, and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Ability to synthesize reports, translate project progress into clear insights, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing skills for reports and project communication materials.
  • Adaptive problem-solving skills to manage project challenges and drive successful outcomes.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on Global Environment Facility (GEF) projects.
  • Technical expertise in natural resource management, including coastal reef and marine protected areas.
