Peregian Beach College Early Learning Centre is a warm and nurturing early childhood education provider, operating from 7:00am to 5:30pm, 50 weeks of the year. Our centre is licensed for 34 places across two rooms, and is supported by a team of dedicated, qualified educators who are passionate about early years education.

Located within the beautiful natural grounds of Peregian Beach College, our centre provides a unique setting that inspires creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning, ensuring each child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team in a full-time capacity for a maternity leave cover position until September 2025 (potential to extend). This role will primarily cover the Assistant Director position and will occasionally include Director duties. This position will be well suited to someone with at least 2IC experience, looking to further develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment, where the children come first.

In this position, you will support the Director with responsibility for the overall management and administration of the service, including maintaining relevant day-to-day accounts and administrative matters, including use of the childcare management system and inclusion support portal. You are expected to assist the Director to lead, guide and support the Service to provide high quality Early Childhood Education and Care to the community.

Selection Criteria:

• Current, paid Blue Card
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or above (or ACECQA approved equivalent)
• Current First Aid, CPR and Asthma/Anaphylaxis certification or willingness to attain
• Knowledge and practical understanding of the National Quality Standards, the Early Years Learning Framework, QLD Kindergarten Guidelines, Kindergarten Funding Essentials
• Experience using XAP or similar Childcare Management Systems (highly desirable)

• Have a passion and joy in their work with children
• Be experienced and skilled at supporting and guiding children's behaviour with compassion, and with support of allied health professionals where relevant
• Dedication to inclusive practices and experience in writing a Strategic Inclusion Plan (SIP) highly regarded
