Join the team at DOLLY in Unley, South Australia as a full-time Senior Sous Chef. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and passion for food in a growing hospitality business.

We require a highly motivated and skilled chef to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for creating delicious, high-quality meals.

You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of our authentic Mediterranean / Italian dishes and management of the kitchen and kitchen team.

About the role:

The successful candidate will report to the Head & Executive Chef and will be responsible for:

• Planning, directing and supervising food preparation and cooking to ensure consistently high-quality items are produced.

• Collaborating with the Venue Manager to plan menus and daily specials.

• Manage and train kitchen staff, preparing and cooking food.

• Creating new dishes and teaching recipes to other kitchen staff.

• Undertaking stock control.

• Supervising and delegating work to kitchen staff and any trainees/apprentices

• Planning and coordinating menus for functions.

• Controlling wastage and ensuring hygiene and cleanliness, at all times.

• Ensuring food and kitchen meet Occupational Health and Safety standards, at all times.

The Senior Sous Chef must be a team player and have formal qualifications and/or 2 years of demonstrated experience working as a chef.

Must have:

• a strong ability in menu development,

• adept at planning and costing out menus,

• the ability to lead and inspire,

• highly developed communication and presentation skills,

• ability to select kitchen staff as required
