Overview:
This is your opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring top-quality produce reaches supermarkets, restaurants and family tables across Australia.
Located in Two Wells, South Australia, the role is offered casually initially only for 2 months with the opportunity for ongoing regular work for the right person. This role is an excellent opportunity to commence with this large and well-respected producer. Supervisory roles and/or permanent opportunities are likely available with this large client for the right people.
Hourly rate to be negotiated with candidates in the interview process based on experience but will fall between $35-40 per hour paid casually.
Working hours are either Monday to Friday 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm by negotiation with the manager and to suit business needs.
About the Position:
- Fruit and Vegetable Production Environment
- Support the development and implementation of the Food Safety System
- Manages daily tasks of Quality Control Officers and coordinates Quality Control activities
- Manage Hygiene and Sanitation Program
- Update quality procedure, work instructions and form as required
- Carry out sampling, testing and product assessment as required
- Issue and manage QA paperwork for designated locations
- Conducts daily line checks, weekly and monthly GMP audits
- Investigate non-conformance, implement corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
- Coordinates validation and verification activities
- Drive Food Safety Culture through engagement and initiatives with the wider team
- Provide support to Category teams as required
- Conduct training for staff and external contractors as per schedule
- Conducts internal audit of Quality Systems, ensuring audit preparedness
- Participate and support all external audits
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous demonstrated work history, outlining at least 12 months of full-time work in a Quality Assurance role
- Current Drivers Licence
- Experience delivering to small groups and providing training to staff
- Demonstrated English language and numeracy proficiency
- Demonstrated computer literacy including intermediate Word and Excel skills
- Good communication skills to contribute positively, report issues and coordinate with the team
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating in a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Environment (SHEQ)
- Working knowledge of production Quality Assurance systems and processes
- Experience implementing Quality Assurance programs
- Experience auditing against process and policy
- Workers must demonstrate the ability to get to work each day using their own transport as no public transport is available near the work location.
