Who on earth are we?

Y Whittlesea is a not-for-profit that happens to be part of the oldest youth organisation in the world (YMCA) and oldest social enterprise, where all profits go back into our communities. Established in June 2024, the Y Community School is a fresh initiative, crafting a safe and inclusive learning environment for young people aged 15-20 who may have faced disengagement from mainstream education. We're all about providing support, services, and programs to empower individuals to achieve their goals and lead dignified lives. Be a part of something bigger!

What do we hope you'll bring?

  • Legal right to live and work in Australia.
  • Cert IV in Youth Work (or equivalent)
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
  • Police Check (International if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) (or willing to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience working with students in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
  • Familiarity with technology to support student learning.
