Community Service Field Officer - Casual
Location - Bathurst & Mudgee
Employment type - Casual
Hourly rate - $46.36 per hour
Your role
Provide worksite supervision and support to offenders undertaking mandated community service and coordinate all aspects of a community service worksite.
What you'll do
- Transport groups of offenders with Community Service conditions on their Court Orders from the Community Corrections office to worksites to undertake assigned community work programs, and return
- Undertake WHS checks to ensure safety of worksite and compliance with safe work practices/worksite rules to ensure work health and safety of offenders completing their Community Service conditions of their orders
- Guide, mentor, and work with people on Community Service, setting boundaries around acceptable behaviour and work practices, whilst also providing leadership and opportunities for growth and learning
- Instruct offenders in WHS principles and safe work practices
- Supervise, at all times, the group of offenders at the nominated community worksite to ensure community safety and the safety of offenders themselves.
- Accurately record offender attendance and provide offender attendance/behaviour/compliance reports to the nominated Community Corrections Officer.
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of people with challenging behaviours who require leadership, mentoring and coaching in acceptable work practices
- Current NSW driver's license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team of Community Service order staff to achieve key outcomes of the scheme
- Ability to work with agency staff from different community organisations across the area to increase knowledge of the scheme and increase positive outcomes Community the scheme brings to the community

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce reoffending and create safer communities. We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community.
CSNSW provides reports and advice to courts and releasing/parole authorities and assesses offenders in the community and in custody for relevant interventions to reduce their risks of reoffending. CSNSW works in partnership with other government and non-government justice and human services agencies to support victims, facilitate restorative justice and promote reintegration.
