Specialised Hydraulic & Mechanical (SHM) is growing, and we’re looking for skilled tradespeople and mechanically minded locals to join our team in Kalgoorlie.

We’ve got opportunities for qualified HD Fitters, Diesel Fitters, Truck Mechanics, and a new Trade Assistant position for a local candidate wanting to get hands-on experience in a mechanical workshop.

**Pay rates are flexible and will be negotiated based on your experience, the role, and the roster.

Current Opportunities

HD Fitters – FIFO from Perth (2/1 or 8/6)

Truck Mechanics – FIFO from Perth (2/1 or 8/6)

Diesel Fitters – Kalgoorlie-based (5/2 or flexible rosters available)

LV Mechanics – Kalgoorlie-based (5/2 or flexible rosters available)

Trade Assistant – Kalgoorlie-based (5/2 or flexible rosters available)- Ideal for someone mechanically minded who wants to build experience supporting qualified trades in a workshop environment. Previous experience preferred but not essential. Apprenticeship potential for the right candidate.

What We’re Looking For

For Trade Qualified roles:

Cert III in Heavy Diesel, Light Vehicle, Mobile Plant, or similar

Strong fault-finding and repair skills

Safety-first mindset and good team player

National Police Clearance

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen

For the Trade Assistant role:

A genuine interest in mechanical work

Good attitude and willingness to learn

Reliable and physically fit
