Are you a passionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician who enjoys making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families? This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and progressive community mental health team delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care to children, adolescents, and young adults aged 0–25 years.
About the Role As part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessment, treatment, and support to young consumers experiencing mental health challenges. Working within a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive framework, you’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting timely assessments and developing evidence-based care plans
- Delivering therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation for consumers and families
- Collaborating with carers, schools, GPs, and community organisations to ensure holistic care
- Participating in safety planning, risk management, and ongoing case reviews
- Contributing to continuous quality improvement and professional development activities
This role operates on a rotating roster (including some afternoon and weekend shifts) and offers the chance to work across both community and bed-based settings.
About You You are an adaptable and compassionate clinician who thrives in a team-based environment and is committed to delivering safe, person-centred mental health care.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with AASW/Speech Pathology Australia
(e.g. Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker,) - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mental health or child/youth services
- Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities
- Current driver’s licence
Desirable:
- Postgraduate training in Child and Youth Mental Health
- Knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act, FVISS/CISS, and MARAM frameworks
- Understanding of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System and service reform
