The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join the firm’s Commercial Disputes and Insolvency team in Melbourne.

You’ll be joining a high-performing group that works on complex commercial disputes, insolvency matters, and general litigation. This role would suit a confident and organised assistant who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being an integral part of a busy, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing incoming calls and assisting with client enquiries
  • Diary and email management for lawyers and partners
  • Preparing and amending legal documents, correspondence, and briefs
  • Opening and closing matters, and maintaining accurate file management
  • Assisting with monthly billing, timesheets, and client reporting
  • Providing general administrative and team support

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary within a reputable law firm (litigation experience preferred)
  • Strong MS Word, formatting, and typing skills
  • Excellent communication, time management, and prioritisation abilities
  • A proactive mindset and a high level of attention to detail
  • A friendly, professional approach and a genuine team focus
