About the Role

Perth Day Hospital is seeking a motivated and reliable Casual Central Sterilisation & Endoscopy Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe reprocessing of surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes, helping us maintain the highest standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, and sterilise surgical instruments and reusable medical devices

Reprocess flexible endoscopes following validated procedures

Operate washers, sterilisers, and drying/storage systems

Conduct visual inspections and function checks of instruments

Accurately track and document instrument usage

Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas

Report faults, quality concerns, or safety risks promptly

Compliance & Standards

You will be required to follow all organisational procedures and relevant standards and legislation, including:

Standards & Guidelines

AS 5369:2023 – Reprocessing of reusable medical devices

AS/NZS 4187:2014 (transitional reference)

GENCA Standards for Infection Prevention in Endoscopy

NSQHS Standards (particularly Standard 3 – Preventing & Controlling Infections)

ISO 15883 (Cleaning & Disinfection)

Manufacturer’s Instructions for Use (IFU)

Legislation & Regulatory

Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care requirements

Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) reprocessing and device requirements

State/Territory Health Department directives

Work Health & Safety Act & Regulations

About You

Cert III in Sterilisation Services with a minimum of 2 years’ experience

CSSD and/or Endoscopy experience

Knowledge of infection prevention standards and WHS

Strong attention to detail and commitment to following procedures

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Excellent team player with strong communication skills
