As part of Meli’s Aspire Program, this role provides intensive, trauma-informed case management to young people aged 12–25 and their families. You’ll work to promote safety and stability, disrupt the cycle of violence, and empower young people to build respectful relationships and positive futures. This is a dynamic position for someone passionate about advocacy, collaboration, and creating meaningful change.
About the Role
As a Caseworker – Youth Family Violence Support, you will:
- Deliver trauma-informed, intensive case management to young people and families experiencing family violence, focusing on safety, recovery, and stability.
- Conduct comprehensive MARAM risk assessments and develop tailored care plans that address housing, mental health, and other complex needs.
- Provide targeted psychoeducation to challenge the normalization of violence and promote respectful relationships.
- Build strong partnerships with external agencies and coordinate care teams to ensure holistic, responsive support.
Position Details
- Part-time, fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2026
- 0.8 FTE working 30.4 hours per week
- $101,032 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or post graduate qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related behavioral science, Criminology, or a related discipline
- Willing to undertake further training to achieve Mandatory Minimum Qualifications, or meets the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications for Family Violence Practitioners by meeting one of the below:
- Have been employed in the specialist family violence workforce before 1 July 2021 with continuous services (has not had a break from this work for more than 4 years), or
- Brings significant cultural knowledge or lived experience and is working towards a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification, or
- Holds at least 5 years of relevant professional experience or hold a related qualification and is working towards a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification
- Experience in the family violence field, demonstrated particularly in provision of case management crisis intervention and/or therapeutic interventions for women and children.
