Mater Mothers’ Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Midwives to join our Private Postnatal Ward as a Clinical Midwife.

This part-time position (32 hours per week) offers both permanent and maximum-term contracts.
As a leader in maternity and newborn services across Queensland and northern New South Wales, Mater Mothers’ Hospital provides exceptional, holistic care to women and their families—spanning obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll provide high-quality private postnatal care across a range of normal and complex cases within the Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.
Your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and compassionate approach will ensure exceptional care for every patient while supporting your team to deliver best practice midwifery care.
About you

In this role, you’ll also assist the Midwifery Unit Manager in clinical and safety improvement audits and champion excellence across the team.
The successful candidate will have:
• Current AHPRA registration with midwifery endorsement (no restrictions)
• Minimum two years’ post-graduate experience as a Registered Midwife, ideally within a postnatal setting
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
• Evidence of ongoing professional and educational development, preferably with postgraduate qualifications
• A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in health care and midwifery practice
• Strong ability to work effectively within a collaborative multidisciplinary team
