About the role
Are you a passionate educator who thrives on helping young people achieve their best through applied learning? TAFE Gippsland is seeking an experienced and dynamic VIT-registered teacher to deliver the Victorian Certificate of Education – Vocational Major (VCE VM) at our Bairnsdale campus.
The VCE VM is a senior secondary certificate that equips students with the academic, personal and vocational skills to successfully transition into further education, training or employment.
Our program embraces applied learning principles, ensuring students connect classroom knowledge to real-world contexts through hands-on, project-based experiences.
As a VCE VM Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging curriculum, support students to meet VCAA outcomes, and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
About you
You have a deep understanding of applied learning and the VCE Vocational Major study designs, including Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development Skills (PDS), and Work-Related Skills (WRS).
You can design authentic, hands-on and purposeful learning experiences that build both academic and employability skills.
You effectively monitor, assess and report on student progress, using data and reflection to guide teaching practice.
You are skilled at fostering student engagement and wellbeing through positive relationships, flexibility and creativity.
You demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, building collaborative relationships with colleagues, industry partners, and families.
You are reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth, ensuring your teaching remains relevant and impactful.
You align with TAFE Gippsland’s values of Responsibility, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.
Qualifications and experience
Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
A relevant teaching qualification
Demonstrated experience in applied learning, VCE VM, VPC or VCAL delivery (highly desirable)
Strong understanding of VCAA assessment and moderation requirement
Mandatory requirements
Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
Current Driver’s License (travel is a requirement of the role)
