An opportunity is now available for a passionate and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Soil and Crop Modelling) to join our research team.

Who you are:

  • You are a dedicated researcher with expertise in soil science, crop modelling, or related fields, and are motivated to contribute to advancing sustainable agricultural systems
  • You will bring strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic colleagues, industry partners, and research organisations to deliver impactful outcomes

What you'll do:

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will:

  • Conduct research in soil and crop modelling to support the Centre’s research priorities and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and research organisations to develop innovative solutions for sustainable agricultural systems.
  • Contribute to competitive research funding applications and engage in activities that support research income generation.
  • Support postgraduate students, including research Masters and Honours projects, through co-supervision and mentoring.
  • Actively contribute to service and engagement activities within the Centre, profession, and broader community.
  • Participate in professional development and build research leadership capabilities.

What will help you succeed:

We are seeking a researcher who:

  • Holds an honours degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline (progression towards completion of a Doctoral qualification is highly regarded).
  • Has professional experience or demonstrated knowledge in soil science, crop modelling, or related fields.
  • Demonstrates research capability and potential to collaborate effectively with academic and industry partners.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build constructive and effective relationships.
  • Aligns with UniSQ’s core values of Respect, Integrity, and Excellence.

Salary: Total remuneration range of $94,509 to $126,788 pa (includes salary range of $79,704 to $99,840 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
