About the role

Remote Mechanical Contracting is seeking a skilled Diesel Power Generation Mechanic to join our team FIFO ex Perth, WA. As a Diesel Power Generation Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered generators that are essential to our clients' operations. You will be teamed up with an experienced generation electrician. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

What you'll be doing

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on diesel-powered generators, including inspections, testing, and repairs

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, (LV) electrical systems, and associated components

Carry out major overhauls and rebuilds of diesel generators and their subsystems

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities

Provide technical support and guidance to operations teams

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

Formal qualification in Diesel Mechanics or a related field

Certificate III in Diesel Mechanics or equivalent qualification required

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Diesel Power Generation Mechanic, preferably in the mining or resources sector

Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, generators, and associated electrical and mechanical systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Current driver's licence and ability to work in remote locations

Strong commitment to safety and a desire to work in a high-risk environment

Australian permanent residency required
