We’re seeking an exceptional academic and clinician to take a leading role in shaping the next generation of doctors as Associate Professor, General Practice and Primary Care within our School of Medicine and Dentistry.

The position leads the provision of high-quality learning, teaching, assessment and curriculum development in the areas of general practice and Primary Health Care within the School of Medicine and Dentistry. The principal program to which contributions will be provided by this role is the graduate entry medical program. This position also aims to increase the range, quality and productivity of general practice and Primary Health Care research in the School.
This is a continuing, part-time (0.4FTE / 40%) position based at the Sunshine Coast site, where the Doctor of Medicine is delivered at the Sunshine Coast Health Institute and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
The Sunshine Coast site is located on the land of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Associate Professor (Level D) range $167,008 - $183,992 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $195,400 - $215,271 per annum.
Qualifications 
We’re seeking a leader who combines clinical excellence with a passion for education and research. You’ll bring:
A primary medical qualification and fellowship with FRACGP, FACRRM, or equivalent
Unconditional registration as a Specialist in General Practice with AHPRA
A doctoral or master’s qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and / or professional fellowship.
A track record in clinical general practice, curriculum development, and teaching in a medical or health program
A collaborative mindset, leadership skills, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student success and health equity.
